It’s no fun to be a witness when you’re travelling in reverse All the Kings look just the same, all the banquets and the games All the warring and the scheming, it’s hard to find something redeeming When they make their power play even Queens will want their say: Bring Me His Head But History has taught us better – we don’t need those kinds of measures Modern Kings are civilized, get Governments to fight their fights And so we trust in our leaders like they’re the ones who clothe and feed us But they’re corrupt and self-obsessed and they poison all the rest: Bring Me His Head So build your castle, watch it fall Line all your friends up against a wall Write a communique – “I think it’s better to end this way Can I leave my trophies to you all?” But if one day I were to be King and find the peace that I am seeking I’d be honest, I’d be kind, I’d be patient and refined And if someone tried to invade me, convince my people to betray me I’d make them hurt, I’d make them pay, I’d be a hero and the crowd would say: Bring Me His Head

(I'm) gonna get my look straight Gonna get my teeth white Gonna get my tan sprayed Gonna get my body tight And then I'll strut downtown without a care in the world Men will fear me and I'll fight off the girls I'll walk right past you and you'll see what you could have held You're a disease, you're a sickness I can't endure It's about time I got cured Oh it's a positive negative Positive negative Just don’t flick the switch Positive negative Gonna start reading Gonna watch the ABC Gonna buy a radio Gonna listen carefully And then I'll publish a book of philosophy Say on the talk shows you meant nothing to me Star in a movie and buy me a football team You're a small step, you're a pit-stop along my way But it's about time you got rightfully paid It was a positive negative Positive negative Don't matter which is which Positive negative Sometimes a minus becomes a plus Well it's a positive negative Positive negative Just don't flick the switch Positive to negative Well it's a positive negative Positive negative Just don't flick the switch Positive to negative Positive Negative Positive

Summer Skirt 04:31
Stuff you Thought you said that I could trust you Screw this I can't take it anymore I'm walking away from it all Leaving We could have had a ball Instead of building it we fall You shocked me Thought we were in this forever Killed me Left me looking like a fool You’ve cheated on me all along Left me Wondering where I went wrong All I thought I knew is gone And I thought my choice was made til I saw you yesterday I didn't think it would hurt til I saw you wear that summer skirt Didn't think I could feel worse until I saw you wear that summer skirt I wanted to pass you by, but you caught my eye like you always do I met you as a girl in a summer skirt Remember I saw you standing by the shoreline A good girl Your Mum said stay away from me We’ve been together for years Now you’ve torn it You turned out to be a Bad girl Who has ruined everything But I was ready to try again then I saw you out with him I didn't think it would hurt til I saw you wear that summer skirt Didn't think I could feel worse until I saw you wear that summer skirt Now you got someone new, I don’t know what to do, I’m still into you I met you as a girl in a summer skirt That Summer running from your mother we needed a place to hide Took a pit stop over in the Surf Shop I said grab something to buy You chose blue like I wanted you to and you held it up to your eyes And I loved you then and there and you said you’d always wear that summer skirt for me I didn't think it would hurt til I saw you wear that summer skirt Didn't think I could feel worse until I saw you wear that summer skirt I wanted to pass you by, but you caught my eye like you always do I met you as a girl in a summer In a summer I didn't think it would hurt til I saw you wear that summer skirt Didn't think I could feel worse until I saw you wear that summer skirt I wanted to pass you by, but you caught my eye like you always do I met you as a girl

Been dreaming of you for all the night through I can't believe the time it takes to turn you on I smell your perfume - you're Italian Can't wait to pick you up Hot coffee cup I'm always sleepy but you revive me I can’t start the day without a taste of you And you can save me with all your flavours Just want to pick you up Hot coffee cup I'm gonna drink you down Until you burn my mouth It's worth it for the buzz that you're giving me You're gonna wear me out Well now you're empty, you've satisfied me Before too long I'll be looking for something new It's no fiction - it's an addiction Don't wanna come unstuck Need a hot coffee cup I'm gonna drink you down Until you burn my mouth It's worth it for the buzz that you're giving me You're gonna wear me out I'm gonna drink you down Until you burn my mouth It's worth it for the buzz that you're giving me You're gonna wear me out, out, out

Highway Cops 03:33
Daddy got stopped by the Highway Cops ‘cos they didn't like the look of his ride Daddy stepped down on the accelerator shoulda seen that gravel Seen that gravel fly Started up a chase on the A-37 drivin’ out of the countryside Up to the freeway then under the tunnel went the white & blue flashin’ White & blue flashin’ lights He spat out the window as we flew through the city Said “Son don’t you trust no other man's ability” Took a wrong turn and got lost in the suburbs, woke the people up as we passed by Further up ahead saw the road block a-comin’ and my Daddy he started Daddy just started to smile Daddy got stopped by the Highway Cops had the city cops in there too Covered up the road with tyre spikes and the cops raised their weapons Cops raised their weapons Daddy got out and he held up his hands, told me to get out too Everything stopped then a Highway Cop said I remember I remember you Back at the station they began interrogatin' Highway Cop sure that he'd seen my Daddy before Now we see Dad every Saturday, he'll be inside for a while Turned out he's wanted in Tasmania, South & West Australia South & West Australia When we leave the Correctional Centre I always turn back and wave Think about the night when we tore through the city an accomplice when I was Accomplice when I was 8 When I grow up gonna buy me a hotrod Show these cops how the highway's become mine But when I get stopped by the Highway Cops gonna show ‘em my biggest smile ‘Cos there ain't no freedom when you're stuck in a prison wanna see that country See that countryside My countryside

Dumb Kids 03:51
Look at all the winners taking selfies of each other but not seeing me I’m invisible Walk down empty hallways hear the sound of friends and laughter but I can’t get in I’m missing out But I’m learning and I might just break it apart I’m learning: sometimes going slow can get you far Fear of looking stupid, too frightened to be me but I’m not fooling them Or anyone Escape into my corner with a notebook and a feather, write the saddest songs For no-one But I’m moving anywhere but here I’m moving: sometimes staying away can bring you near Dumb kids get smart But I’m rising and I’ve left all of that behind I’m rising: sometimes you have to crawl before you climb Dumb kids get smart Fat kids get buff Slow kids catch up

Fools Gold 04:43
When she first saw you in a foreign bar She could sense your weakness from afar She knew you can't see people as they really are So she seduced you on a country drive She made you believe she was the best thing in your life Now you want to get married and you're asking me is she Miss Right? She's gold, fool's gold She shines, but so cold Can't buy, not sold She's gold, fool's gold You didn't like to hear that, didn't like the news Didn't like me saying I don't think she's being true But I won't apologise: friends don't let friends get used Now you won't see me, won't take my calls She's telling everyone that I'm the one at fault But I see it in her eyes and I know that she's playing you all She's gold, fool's gold She shines, but so cold Can't buy, not sold She's gold, fool's gold I tried, even prayed, but I just can't wait because you're tying the knot tomorrow I broke into your hotel room to give you one last chance to follow I'm not rich like you but I know a thing or two about what to buy and what to borrow We talked through to morning then the limousine arrived That's when you said you were going ahead with this new life I couldn't convince you, now I'm the one on the outside And what I couldn't tell you, what I knew from the start Was how we recognised the liars we both are We both want your money, we're both gold diggers at heart She's gold, fool's gold She shines, but so cold Can't buy, not sold She's gold, fool's gold I know what she's like, she's a gold digger I’m a gold digger too

Open Season 04:27
Charlie didn’t kill those hikers Mama but I sure know who did Was a drifter who came out of the town and started hanging out with us kids First he gave us beer and rolled-up ciggies, made us laugh at his ways Then his jokes began to get darker - then he started to say Oh open season Charlie went off with the drifter Mama I tried to tell him not to go It didn’t feel right to be drinking so much – everything went slow I saw the two girls come round the corner singing as they walked by I saw the drifter stand up and stop them, I thought I heard Charlie cry Oh open season Oh you think I’m telling you lies - you think I’m fantasising now Oh you think I wasn’t there but where did this blood on my hands come from? Mama went and called the cops out Charlie they’re gonna be here soon I hope I done good, I told her the story like the way you said I should But I don’t think she believed me Charlie - she knows just what we’re like Time to run off to the forest Charlie they’ll never take us alive Oh open season

Love Shy 05:40
Seasons come, and they go He’s been living alone for so long , its starting to show He’s not young, not too old But he can’t talk to girls even though he feels lonely When he speaks he just stammers his words Cos he’s love-shy This guy’s love-shy She looks out, hides away Sees the lonely guy with his head down as he opens his gate Wants to say, how was your day? But she’s been hurt before, knows it’s better this way Turns aside and lets the curtain fall In spite of all the sadness there’s a lot of gladness in true romance Away from all the clamour we just need each other it’s happenstance And our head’s not our friend when it blocks our good sense We’re not creatures of logic we’re creatures of feeling But here there’s this girl and this guy and they just can’t see it But they’re love-shy This girl’s love-shy And he’s love-shy This guy’s love-shy Seasons come, they don’t linger They’re still living with two separate lives until one winter He falls down, she’s right there And she looks after him and they come to be friends All he has to do is just kiss her! In spite of all the sadness there’s a lot of gladness in true romance Away from all the clamour we just need each other it’s happenstance And our head’s not our friend when it blocks our good sense We’re not creatures of logic we’re creatures of feeling But here there’s this girl and this guy and they just can’t see it Cos they’re love-shy This girl’s love-shy This guy’s love-shy Don’t be love-shy Cos they’re love-shy This girl’s love-shy This guy’s love-shy Don’t be love-shy Don’t be so Love-shy

Well I got to get to Sydney but baby I ain't got no car Oh yeh I got to get to Sydney but baby I ain't got no car You say I'll have to walk but girl it's a little too far Oh well I got to get to Sydney but baby I ain't got no car I can't stay here, gotta get me down to New South Wales Honey let me drive your train So now I've pulled all your levers, I've twisted all of your dials I said I've pulled all your levers and twisted all your dials We're cruising for the moment but we'll heat it up in a while Cos I've pulled all your levers and twisted all of your dials Don't make me stop cos these brakes may not work again Honey let me drive your train Well I've stoked up your fire but I'm running out of fuel I've stoked up your fire but I'm running out of fuel We could push it along but you want to play by the rules Oh now I've stoked up your fire but we're running out of fuel I think it's gonna blow so it's time for jerking the chain Baby when I drive your train Well now we've pulled into the station and we're resting up for a spell I said we pulled into the station and we're resting up for a spell Smoke a cigarette, have a drink, maybe go for a meal Well now we've pulled into the station and we're resting up for a spell Now I want to go to Tassie but it looks like we busted the train Honey let me fly your plane Now I wanna go to Tassie but it looks like we busted the train Honey let me fly your plane
